Whistleblowing Statement
IQE plc and its affiliates (IQE / we) is committed to having an environment where those working for us feel able to suggest ideas, raise concerns and ask questions. We operate with honesty and integrity and in a way which is transparent, fair, open and ethically responsible. We expect all of our staff to maintain the same high standards. We encourage our staff to speak up and report anything that may be in breach of these standards. Our whistleblowing policy sets out the procedures for our employees to raise concerns.
What is whistleblowing?
A whistle-blower is a person who raises a genuine concern and makes a disclosure of information which relates to suspected wrongdoing or dangers at work. They do not need to have proof, a genuine concern is sufficient. If any employee has any genuine concerns related to suspected wrongdoing or danger affecting any of our activities they should report it immediately.
Raising concerns
In the first instance, all staff should raise their concern with their line manager, local HR representative or senior manager as soon as they become aware that any wrongdoing is happening, has happened or is likely to happen. They can be informed in person or in writing. Should the matter be more serious, IQE’s General Counsel & Company Secretary can be contacted to discuss the concerns.
We take all concerns raised seriously. Matters are investigated either by management, the HR team, the Legal department or an independent body, depending on the concern raised.
Confidentiality
We hope that employees feel able to voice whistleblowing concerns openly but anyone is entitled to ask for their concerns to be treated anonymously and such wishes will be respected.
Protection and support
We understand that employees may be worried about possible repercussions. We aim to encourage openness and will support employees who raise genuine concerns, even if they turn out to be mistaken.
Whistle-blowers will not suffer any detrimental treatment or be penalised as a result of raising a genuine concern providing they act in good faith.
