IQE named in Wales Fast Growth 50
Cardiff, 4th November 2009: IQE plc (AIM: IQE, “the Group”) the leading manufacturer of advanced semiconductor wafers to the global semiconductor industry, has today been named as one of the fifty fastest growing companies in Wales.
IQE is named in the 2009 Wales Fast
Growth 50 magazine which is sponsored by the University of
Wales’ Global Academy and is published in today’s national
newspaper of Wales, the Western Mail.
The Wales Fast Growth Fifty project is now in its eleventh year and its founder and director, Professor Dylan Jones- Evans, said:
“While trading has been tough
during the worst recession since the Second World War, we
have still had a record number of entries from companies in
a range of sectors and from all across Wales.
“Yes, some companies have fallen by the wayside as you
would expect in any economy but their baton has been picked
up by others who have moved forward to such an extent that
the overall turnover for this year’s 50 firms is double what
it was last year.”
IQE first appeared in the inaugural Wales Fast Growth Fifty
list published in 1999. Inclusion on the list is based on
growth in turnover over a three year period.
