Senior Project Engineer

IQE plc, Cardiff, UK (with international travel)

The role:

Due to our continued success we require a Senior Project Engineer to join our Global Engineering Team. Based at Cardiff, with a significant amount of overseas travel, you will be responsible for supporting the local Engineering team at each site in the implementation of key process and facility based projects.

To be successful in this role you will have a minimum 2nd Class(Upper) BEng(Hons) or BSc(Hons) in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Chemical Engineering or Applied Physics and hold Incorporated Engineer registration. It is also expected that you will progress to Chartered Engineer status.

The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator with the ability to develop strong working relationships with local engineering teams. You will have a hands on approach and have basic fault finding skills.

Equipment Engineer

IQE Silicon Compounds Limited, Cardiff, UK

The role:

We are seeking to expand our Silicon Compounds Epiwafer operations and are  recruiting an experienced Equipment Engineer to be based at our Cardiff manufacturing facility.

Key functions:

  • To improve all equipment uptime MTTR And MTBF figures
  • To carry out routine maintenance of all equipment
  • Continual improvement of all equipment
  • Reactor preventative maintenance
  • Wet deck preventative maintenance
  • Metrology preventative maintenance
  • Plant preventative maintenance
  • Equipment fault finding improvement
  • Equipment spec writing

Hours / shifts:

4 shifts on, 4 Shifts off

Education:

HND/Degree qualified in related engineering discipline

Previous experience:

The successful candidate is likely to have experience in maintaining and repairing semiconductor equipment in the CVD, Etch or metallization departments.

Technical skills:

Acute problem solving capabilities. Good knowledge of electronics, mechanical and pneumatic systems. Cost conscious.

Interpersonal skills:

A team player, able to communicate at all levels.
